Residency project

Nora would bring a unique and poetic approach to the project, rooted in her vision of hydrofeminism and her conception of films as “empathy machines.” Her experience as a writer-director, combined with her recent exploration of the theme of water during a residency in Lagos, allows her to approach the subject of whales with particular sensitivity to environmental and scientific issues.

Nora's desire to place nature at the heart of the story and his interest in representing contemporary scientific questions would be valuable for the project. Her collaborative approach and her experience in collective creation would enrich the creative process of the residency. Moreover, her ability to see the whale as a subject that is both ancestral and mysterious could lead to a documentary that skilfully blends science, poetry and environmental thinking, thus offering a new perspective on these marine creatures and their surprising presence in the Mediterranean.
