Residency project

Lucie Lanzini explores the tensions between materials and forms to question the symbolic function of objects. By combining sculpture and installation, she combines various materials — raw, organic or plastic — whose scales and textures disturb perceptions. Through demanding techniques such as sandblasting, silvering or oxidation, she pushes the limits of her expertise to reveal the potential of materials.

During the “Land and Sea” residency, Lucie wishes to deepen these explorations by working with elements inspired by the coast, combining oxidized glass and natural materials. By playing trompe-l'oeil while questioning her illusions, she aims to create works evoking the fragility and transformation of our maritime environment. His work, both disturbing and poetic, invites us to rediscover the fundamental functions of sculpture.
