Hélène Labadie

Bio

Hélène Labadie is a French artist based in Paris, whose practice revolves around sculpture and installation. At the heart of her work, narrative construction borrowed from cinema serves as a common thread, offering her works both visual and conceptual depth.

She has exhibited in prestigious institutions and events, including the Saint-Étienne Biennale, Villa Belleville, and the LSD Gallery. Her creations have also been presented at Bienvenue Art, organized by the Lily Robert gallery, at the Le Café des Glaces Art Center in Tonnerre, as well as at Collectible Bruxelles.

In addition, Hélène Labadie has collaborated with renowned places such as the Ricard Foundation and the Myriam Chair gallery. His works, between material poetry and narrative reflection, question the interactions between space, object and story.

Residency project

Hélène Labadie explores the boundaries between sculpture, cinema and pop culture through narrative installations. Inspired by the imagery of the Hollywood Golden Age, she fantasizes celebrities, places of worship and iconic stories by creating scenes in clay and paper collage.

During the “Land and Sea” residency, she wishes to deepen her approach by integrating elements related to the maritime universe, reinterpreted through the notion of cinema “set”. By combining clay sculptures and collages, she plans to create sketches that summon fictional characters and atmospheres, while playing on the encounter of temporalities and contexts.

This approach, based on collage and combination, allows him to break the limits of his imagination by placing his works in settings where reality and fiction dialogue, inviting the viewer on a sensory and cinematographic journey.
