Anouk Meissner
Bio
Anouk is a multilingual French director and sound engineer with a passion for socially-aware documentaries. Her short film ‘Nobody owns me’ won second prize in the ‘Et pourtant elles tournent’ competition launched by ARTE in 2021. It was broadcast on the channel, as well as winning international awards. She has just completed ‘Chance & Kido’, a new short documentary in the tradition of ‘Nobody owns me’, and is putting the finishing touches to ‘Motor bike shelter’, a film about a trek in Zanskar.
In 2021, she was a columnist for ‘Spectre’ (now ‘Phenomenon’). Anouk was also a member of the France Culture Cinéma student jury at Cannes in 2018. Her creative approach and sensitivity to environmental issues are reflected in her documentary project on whales, aimed at raising public awareness of the importance of these marine creatures in the fight against global warming.
Residency project
Anouk would bring valuable expertise to the residency thanks to her varied skills and experience in the audiovisual field. As an award-winning sound recordist and director, she has an in-depth technical knowledge of sound, which is essential to bring this project to life.
Her creative spirit experience as a columnist have given her a broad perspective on documentary storytelling. Her committed vision of the importance of whales in the fight against global warming aligns perfectly with the objectives of the project, promising a documentary that is both informative and emotionally impactful.
